The role of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol in the prevention and treatment of coronary heart disease: expert group recommendations

A group of 50 experts reviewed the evidence that HDL is a predictor of risk of cardiovascular disease and advocated that raising HDL cholesterol should be a therapeutic goal.
